Most Frequently Asked Questions
Is Bowie & Tye eco-friendly?
Bowie & Tye is very eco-oriented, from our prints to our packaging. All our bikinis use the ECONYL fabric “Renew Cult”, which is 100% made from waste.
Materials such as fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic are all used. It has a 90% reduction in global warming potential (compared to oil-based nylon).
At Bowie & Tye we know everyone loves a bit of cute packaging, but we also know how much it contributes to waste, so here we believe a bit of tissue paper and a cute recycled mailer bag do the trick.
Will the fabric stretch out or sag after swimming?
The fabric will not stretch much as Lurex (the sparkly fabric) is generally not stretchy, so please make sure to get your correct size from the start.
How should I care for my bikini?
Cold wash ONLY (max 30°c), preferably wash the bikini by hand however putting it in the machine is ok. DO NOT IRON THE BIKINIS.
Are the bottoms high-waisted, mid-rise, or low-rise?
The tie side bottom are low rise and the sport bottoms are low-mid rise. The sport bottoms have a bit more coverage and are less adjustable.
